My Word for 2020

Hello friends! Greetings from Pennsylvania!

I can hardly believe that Christmas day has come and gone already, although we are still in the midst of the Christmas season. I feel so blessed to be here with my husband and children as we prepare for 2020. I had some milestones in 2019 as my 10th book with Love Inspired Suspense was released. Another thrill was seeing my book in Barnes and Noble.

In addition, I recently changed jobs. I went from being an itinerant teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing to a classroom position. Although I still work with deaf and hard of hearing students, I am working from a single location rather than driving to various schools. I was really nervous about taking the position, but after prayer I made a leap of faith. I’m so happy I did, as I am truly enjoying my job. It is an absolute joy going to work each day.

I am really excited to see what will happen in the next year. I have two books coming out with Love Inspired Suspense, and another two that I am writing for Annie’s Fiction in their Inn at Magnolia Harbor series. It will be my first attempt at Women’s Fiction. I am intrigued by the challenge the series presents.

With all that is going on in my life, as I have for the past few years, I have spent some time trying to pick a word for the coming year. One thought that keeps popping into my mind is how easy it is to get distracted by the world around me. It’s not unheard of to feel overwhelmed by things that need to be done. And I will admit to sometimes focusing on the wrong goals.

Now, don’t get me wrong. Goals are wonderful. They keep us motivated and give us something to work towards. And for me, I want to focus on those goals that God wants me to achieve. I want to depend on Him, and to seek His face for my joy and my needs.

So my word for 2020 is Enough. As in God is enough. Only He can fill the cravings in my soul. I might not win any awards, or write ten books this next year, but I have Him. And that is fine with me.

Wishing you all a very blessed 2020!
